Privacy Policy for DiscouRSS

One of DiscouRSS main priorities is the privacy of users. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information that are collected and recorded by DiscouRSS and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

DiscouRSS is designed to function with privacy in mind. We minimize data collection to only what is strictly necessary to provide the service and maintain platform security. All information not explicitly detailed below is kept secure in a Google Sheet that you control.

Data We Collect and Store

• Spreadsheet ID: DiscouRSS logs the unique identifier of the Google Spreadsheet utilizing the plugin. Further, this ID is included in the DiscouRSS User Agent and thus shared with all webservers. This is captured in the event owners need to be contacted.
• Discord Webhook ID: We store the unique identification number of the Discord Webhook provided by the user. This information does not enable posting to the webhook.

Data We Explicitly DO NOT Collect

To protect your infrastructure and data feeds, the following information is processed locally or within your Google environment and is never sent to or stored on our servers:

• Discord Webhook Keys/Tokens: We do not collect or store the secret authorization keys for your webhooks.
• RSS Feed URLs: The addresses of the RSS feeds you monitor are not collected or logged by us.
• Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, billing details, or any other personally identifiable information (PII). All personal information posted within the Spreadsheet is kept private within the Spreadsheet.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal information we collect exclusively to:

• Monitor and ensure the stable operation of the plugin.
• Mitigate malicious activities, service abuse, or automated system exploitation.
• Comply with necessary Google Workspace Marketplace developer requirements or Discord User Requirements.

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or advertising, nor do we sell or share it with third parties.

3. Google User Data Compliance

DiscouRSS operates as a plugin within the Google Sheets ecosystem. Our access to your Google Spreadsheet data is strictly confined to execution of the script functionality you trigger (piping RSS entries to your specified Discord channel).

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. We employ standard technical practices to secure the minimal IDs we store. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
